This little blog is dedicated to all those gamers out there that can't be bothered with multi-player. Those who firmly believe that in order to justify a $100 retail price ($60 for you American bastards), a videogame has to have a compelling and memorable single-player experience, filled with masterful story-telling and, if it suits, be flexible in a way that allows the player to explore complex philosophical and ethical concepts. Indeed, one could argue that the single-player experience is the only experience relevant to those who wish to see videogames transcend the realm of mere hobby or sport, into fully developed and respected art form.

As you can see by the videogames that are currently available on the market, we have a long way to go. Currently, the popularisation of videogames through the mainstream acceptance of video game consoles has resulted in mediocre titles that appeal to the broadest demographic; the adolescent man-child, obsessed with explosions, tits and dick jokes.

I suppose the aim of this blog is to uncover those exceptional hidden gem videogames that demonstrate the true potential for the videogame as a medium of philosophical and literary merit.
